La Plata Electric Association is attending to an underground fault in lines in the County Road 600 area of Archuleta County, which caused 347 customers to lose power at approximately 3:30pm.

“With underground lines, it generally takes longer to find the problem,” said Steve Gregg, LPEA manager of operations.

“Fortunately we were able to switch the power to alternate circuits for now, while we locate the fault and affect repairs.”

All LPEA customers in the area were reported to be back in power by 6:00pm, with LPEA continuing to monitor the situation.
